In a tragic turn of events stemming from a heated domestic argument, 36-year-old Jesus Nevarez-Galindo was shot and killed in his Phoenix home. The evening began with a verbal dispute between Nevarez-Galindo and his wife, 30-year-old Amanda Lynn Miller, reportedly over their financial situation and a lack of food in the house.
The conflict quickly escalated beyond words. At one point, a frustrated Miller allegedly threw a plate of potatoes at her husband, causing it to shatter. The argument intensified further when Nevarez-Galindo reportedly set a pile of papers on fire on the stove. This act prompted Miller to retrieve a 9mm handgun from their bedroom.
According to police reports, Miller claimed her husband was blocking her path in the hallway, preventing her from leaving the residence. It was then that she opened fire, shooting Nevarez-Galindo at least seven times in the back and neck. After the shooting, Miller reportedly extinguished the fire before calling the fire department for assistance. When emergency crews arrived, they discovered Nevarez-Galindo's body lying face down in the home; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Miller was subsequently arrested and faced a charge of second-degree murder, with court records indicating a history of domestic violence between the couple.
