On November 11, 2022, Alex Berry, a 17-year-old from North Little Rock, Arkansas, was fatally shot in the parking lot of McCain Mall. He was found inside his vehicle, having suffered gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His close friend, Marcus Blue, also 17, was with him and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
