On the evening of April 26, 2021, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, a burst of gunfire shattered the night at The Greens at the Rock Apartments. When the echoes faded, 20-year-old Roderick O'Brian Shelby II and 23-year-old Andrea Verser lay fatally wounded. The two were ambushed as they were getting out of a vehicle at Shelby's apartment complex around 10:30 p.m. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind grieving families and a community stunned by the sudden violence.
