In the late afternoon of Friday, December 13, 2024, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a Suitland, Maryland neighborhood. Responding to a report of a shooting at approximately 4:00 p.m., police arrived in the 3400 block of Pearl Drive to a grim scene. There, on a sidewalk, lay 17-year-old James Fitzgerald, a resident of Suitland, suffering from gunshot wounds.
