On a Saturday morning, February 9, 2019, the quiet of a Suitland, Maryland neighborhood was broken by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 10:40 a.m., Prince George's County police officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Parkway Terrace Drive following a report of a shooting. Inside an apartment building, they discovered 23-year-old Terrell Caldwell, a resident of Suitland, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially, detectives began the arduous task of piecing together the events that led to the young man's death. While the motive and suspects were not immediately clear, investigators did not believe the shooting was a random act. For weeks, the case was under active investigation as detectives worked to identify those responsible for the fatal shooting, and a reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information that would lead to an arrest and indictment in the case.
The investigation progressed, and nearly three months later, on May 3, 2019, the Prince George's County Police Department announced a significant breakthrough. Homicide detectives had arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Terrell Caldwell. The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Rahsan Walker and 18-year-old Marvin Brown, both residents of Suitland. The preliminary investigation revealed that the motive for the deadly encounter was an attempted robbery. Both Walker and Brown were charged with first-degree murder and other related charges. Following their arrest, they were taken into the custody of the Department of Corrections and held on a no-bond status.
