On the evening of January 19, 2016, the life of Franklin Latour Young Jr., a 29-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in his own home. Police were called to the 4300 block of West Village Avenue in the Camp Springs area of Suitland, Maryland, around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Upon entering his apartment at the Chelsea West Apartments, officers discovered Mr. Young suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
