On December 5, 2024, at approximately 10:00 AM, Elwood police officers responded to a welfare check at a residence on South G Street in Elwood, Indiana, following concerns for 74-year-old Cynthia Mae Odle. Upon entering the home, officers discovered both Cynthia and her husband, 69-year-old Louis Odle, deceased from gunshot wounds. The local coroner confirmed their deaths at the scene.
