In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Macon, Georgia, the life of 33-year-old Braddricus Dewayne Hood, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On December 22, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 600 block of Williams Street East, near Shurling Drive, following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr.
Hood unresponsive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner. A second individual, a 58-year-old woman, was also found at the scene with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition. The circumstances that led to the shooting are still under investigation by authorities.
As of early January 2026, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Braddricus Hood, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the case and has urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in their efforts to bring those responsible to justice. The family of Mr. Hood remembers him as a loving and caring person who was full of life and cherished spending time with his loved ones. They are seeking justice for his untimely death.
