In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Macon, Georgia, a domestic dispute tragically escalated, leaving one man dead. The life of 45-year-old Deondra Fitchett was cut short on August 14, 2022, in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Woodliff Street. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Fitchett suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led to a suspect. Authorities arrested 27-year-old Tashanie Marie Negron in connection with Fitchett's death. According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, Fitchett and Negron had been in a relationship that had recently ended. It was reported that neither of them resided at the Woodliff Street address where the fatal shooting took place.
Following the incident, investigators took Negron to the Investigations Division for an interview. After she was questioned, Tashanie Marie Negron was arrested and charged with murder. She was subsequently transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, where she was held without bond. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting was reported to be ongoing.
