In the Inglenook community of Birmingham, Alabama, a grim discovery was made on the evening of November 21, 2024. The bodies of two young men were found at an abandoned house, both victims of fatal gunshot wounds. One of the deceased was identified as Michael Allen 'Pika' Carroll, a 20-year-old male. The other victim was 19-year-old Camry Enrique Lee. The incident, which occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of 41st Place North, was reported by residents who heard gunfire and promptly alerted the authorities.
Upon their arrival, Birmingham police officers discovered Lee's body in the driveway of the vacant property, while Carroll's body was found inside the house. In the immediate aftermath of the discovery, investigators took two men in for questioning. One was found uninjured inside the abandoned house, and the other was located walking in the neighborhood shortly after the shooting. However, both individuals were subsequently released without any charges being filed against them. A stolen car was also recovered at the scene, adding another layer to the unfolding investigation.
For four months, the case of the double homicide remained without a resolution. Then, in March 2025, a breakthrough was announced by the Birmingham Police Department. Three suspects were arrested in the Titusville area in connection with the murders of Michael Carroll and Camry Lee. The individuals taken into custody were identified as Cameron Frost, Jaylen Frost, and Taquan Patterson. All three men have been charged with capital murder and are being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond as they await legal proceedings.
