On April 20, 2015, 28-year-old Jawan Antonio Woods was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred on the 100 block of 9th Avenue West in the Smithfield neighborhood. Woods was found unresponsive at the scene and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
