In the late summer of 2014, a dispute over money tragically escalated, leading to the death of Vincent Lamarr Giddens, a 47-year-old male from Birmingham, Alabama. On the evening of August 17th, in the Edgewater community, an argument erupted between Giddens and another man, Antonio Dewayne McIntosh. The disagreement, centered on a debt McIntosh owed to Giddens, took a fatal turn.
During the heated confrontation on the 7400 block of Belgium Avenue, McIntosh produced a firearm and shot Giddens. When emergency responders arrived at the scene near Brooklyn Street, they found Giddens unresponsive. He was quickly transported to UAB Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, Vincent Lamarr Giddens was pronounced dead at 9:49 p.m.
The investigation into the shooting led police to Antonio Dewayne McIntosh, who admitted to shooting Giddens during their argument. Following his confession, McIntosh was taken into custody by law enforcement. He was subsequently charged with murder in connection with the death of Vincent Lamarr Giddens.
