On March 19, 2022, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a body found near 3rd Place South in Lipscomb, Alabama. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the body of 56-year-old Birmingham resident Christopher Duane Watkins, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The incident was promptly classified as a homicide.
