In the early hours of August 12, 2025, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Birmingham, Alabama neighborhood, tragically ending the life of 26-year-old Quindarius Marteze Allen. Allen, a resident of Birmingham, was sitting inside a car in the Graymont Avenue North community when the shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. The incident, which also left another individual wounded, quickly launched a homicide investigation by the Birmingham Police Department.
The investigation into
Allen's death led to the identification and subsequent arrest of multiple suspects. In late August, authorities announced the arrest of 20-year-old Dorian Thally, who was charged with capital murder and attempted murder in connection with the fatal shooting. He was taken into custody and held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
Further developments in the case came in mid-September when U.S. Marshals apprehended a second suspect, Wyatt Ascu, in Bessemer. Ascu faced the same serious charges of capital murder and attempted murder for his alleged involvement in the incident that killed Allen and injured another. A third individual was also taken into custody, bringing the total number of suspects connected to the shooting to three. All three suspects are being held without bond as they await legal proceedings.
