On November 30, 2024, at approximately 2:52 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies were investigating a traffic accident near the intersection of 23rd and 25th Avenues Northeast in Birmingham, Alabama. During this unrelated incident, a vehicle approached the scene, and the driver sought assistance for a passenger who had sustained a gunshot wound.
