On the night of April 16, 2023, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting incident in the 11000 block of Amanda Lane, located in the Highland Meadows area of northeast Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Darwin Givans inside his vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the prompt response from Dallas Fire-Rescue, Givans was pronounced dead at the scene.
