On August 19, 2023, at approximately 4:20 a.m., 39-year-old Christopher Garcia was fatally shot in Northeast El Paso, Texas. The incident occurred in the 9500 block of Dyer Street, near Sanders Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders found Garcia unresponsive and without signs of life.
Preliminary investigations by the El Paso Police Department's Crimes Against Persons division revealed that the shooting resulted from an altercation involving several individuals.
However, specific details about the nature of the dispute have not been disclosed. As of now, no information regarding potential suspects has been provided, and no arrests have been made in connection with Garcia's death.
Christopher Garcia was a lifelong resident of the El Paso community. He is survived by his daughter, Mia "Gorgeous" Jaxine Garcia; his mother, Costancia Garcia; and his siblings, David Ybarra, Mario Garcia, Julie Garcia, and Marlena Lozano. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His family remembers him as a caring and loving father, taken too soon but never forgotten.
