On January 13, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., 28-year-old Justin Jacolby Allen was fatally shot in Dallas, Texas. Allen was conducting a diagnostics test on his vehicle in the 200 block of Prather Street when an unknown assailant shot him from behind. Despite being transported to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
The Dallas Police Department responded to the scene and initiated a homicide investigation under case number 007203-2024. Detectives determ
ined that Allen was shot on Prather Street before being found on Lemmon Avenue near US-75 in Uptown Dallas. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identities of any suspects remain unknown. Allen's family and friends are mourning his untimely death. His mother, Dorothy Claiborne, recounted that Allen managed to call her after being shot but could barely convey that he was en route to the hospital before the call ended. Loved ones described him as a quiet, kind individual with aspirations of opening an automotive shop, a passion he inherited from his late father. His girlfriend, Que Allen, expressed profound grief, referring to him as her "Superman."
A viewing was held on January 26, 2024, at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home in Dallas, followed by a Celebration of Life on January 27, 2024, at the same location.
