On January 3, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 8800 block of Arbor Park Drive, near Royal Lane in the Lake Highlands area. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Richard Charles Pinkney III lying on the sidewalk at the entrance to a trailhead, suffering from a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
