On July 13, 2024, at approximately 1:55 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting incident in the 3500 block of St. Francis Avenue in Far East Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Edward Lamone Upkins Jr. lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire Rescue transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
