Juan Jairo Toran, a 19-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost his life on January 26, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. He was fatally shot in the evening at 11232 Woodmeadow Parkway. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased from a single gunshot wound.
Following the incident, the Dallas Police Department launched an investigation.
On February 9, 2022, Zackius Rayshun Scott, a 21-year-old male, was arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with Toran's death. Scott was held on a $1 million bond at the Dallas County Jail. He also faced additional charges for unauthorized use of a vehicle and a probation violation. Detectives continued to search for other potential suspects involved in the crime.
