Marin Deleon, a 25-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically died on August 12, 2018, in Dallas, TX. Deleon was found shot in the parking lot of the Mountain Creek Apartments on Persimmon Road. According to police reports, Deleon had arrived home from work and parked his truck in front of his apartment building around 2 a.m. For reasons unknown, he remained in his truck with the window partially rolled down for several hours.
Around 5 a.m., two men approached Deleon's truck, with
one of them identified by a witness as Kevin Mead. Surveillance video showed Mead and his associate walking back and forth between Deleon's truck and a nearby apartment complex. At approximately 8 a.m., a passerby called 911 to report Deleon on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. Deleon was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead at 8:20 a.m.

Mead admitted to his role in the murder during an interview with detectives and was held on a $1 million bond. Police have not yet identified Mead's associate seen in the surveillance video, nor have they filed additional charges.
Deleon's wife reported that her husband always carried his mobile phone and wallet, both of which were missing from the truck, and the glove compartment was left open. The investigation continues as authorities work to gather more evidence and potentially identify additional suspects involved in the crime.
