On May 8, 2024, a tragic shooting occurred at a townhome in the 6700 block of Windsor Hollow Drive in San Antonio, Texas, resulting in the death of 4-year-old Mary Ann Marble. The attack, which took place around 7:40 p.m., also left her parents and two siblings injured. According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, two masked gunmen exited a vehicle, approached the residence, and fired approximately 30 rounds from AK-47-style firearms into the home before fleeing the scene.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office launched an intensive investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Surveillance footage from the neighborhood captured images of the suspects and their vehicle, believed to be a gray Infiniti Q50. Investigators determined that the attack was targeted, though the specific motive remained unclear at the time.
Significant progress was made in the case by October 2024. On October 23, authorities arrested 20-year-old Isaiah Perales in connection with the shooting. Perales was charged with capital murder for the death of Mary Ann and faced additional charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and injury to a child by serious bodily injury. His arrest followed the recovery of a Draco AK-47-style firearm from Calaveras Lake, which forensic analysis confirmed matched shell casings found at the crime scene.
The investigation also led to the identification of other individuals linked to the crime. Bryan Salazar, 19, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and deadly conduct after authorities discovered he had deleted digital evidence connecting him to the shooting. Another person of interest, 18-year-old Ashton Garcia, was sought by law enforcement for his potential involvement. Both Salazar and Garcia were believed to be associated with an auto theft ring, and a stolen Infiniti Q50 was suspected to have been used in the commission of the shooting.
Despite these developments, the investigation remained active as authorities continued to pursue leads to bring all responsible parties to justice. Sheriff Salazar emphasized the commitment of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office to ensuring accountability for the heinous act that claimed the life of young Mary Ann and traumatized her family.
