On January 29, 2024, 51-year-old Sheila-Jo Portillo Hanks was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in her apartment on Vance Jackson Road in San Antonio, Texas. Her husband, 44-year-old Carlos Portillo, was discovered nearby, covered in blood, and acting erratically. He informed officers that the blood belonged to his wife, leading to his arrest on murder charges.
