Ashley Marie Jones was a 36-year-old White woman and a devoted mother of three living in San Antonio, Texas. Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Ashley was remembered by her family as fiercely independent and loyal. Her children, Ariana, Zakaydrianna, and Nazier, were her everything. She had a special bond with her family and loved her two dogs, Envy and Onyx.
Her loved ones recalled her as creative, with a huge heart.
On December 30, 2022, Ashley was tragically killed by gun violence in San Antonio. Sources indicated that she was shot and killed during an incident described as a shootout between drivers.
Following an investigation into her death, authorities arrested Aaron Lee. He was charged with murder and aggravated assault.
A jury found Aaron Lee guilty of both murder and aggravated assault. After the verdict, Lee challenged the outcome. The case is now considered closed. In September 2025, the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals affirmed his convictions.
