On May 13, 2024, at approximately 12:31 p.m., Waco Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of South 12th Street in Waco, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Anthony Powe suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers initiated life-saving measures before Powe was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
