On June 13, 2024, at approximately 12:25 a.m., Killeen Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting in the 2800 block of Tucker Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 53-year-old Nicole Isabell Gairey outside a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, Gairey succumbed to her injuries, and Justice of the Peace Nicola James pronounced her dead at the scene at 12:30 a.m.
