Patrick Ramirez Jr., a 29-year-old Hispanic/Latino man from San Jose, California, was a father, son, brother, and friend. Known to some as "Junior," he had one son and two step-sons and was remembered for the love he had for his children and his siblings.
On the evening of June 7, 2023, first responders were called to the area near Dixie Road and Lanai Avenue, close to the San Jose City College campus. Around 8:20 p.m., they found Patrick suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
He was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but he died later that day.
The San Jose Police Department opened an investigation into the shooting, which marked the city’s 20th homicide of the year.
As of the initial investigation in June 2023, no arrests had been made, and police had not publicly identified any suspects or a possible motive in the shooting. The case remains unsolved.
