Mark Edward Jones, a 49-year-old transient, was found shot to death in a neighborhood south of downtown San Jose on December 5, 2018. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office identified Jones after officers responded to a report of a person down near Virginia and Third streets around 1 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Jones had been shot at least once and was pronounced dead at the scene.
