On September 25, 2023, 15-year-old Angelo Michael Rivas Jr., a student at Franklin High School in Stockton, California, was fatally shot near the intersection of North Center and Channel streets. The incident occurred around 4:34 p.m., when officers responded to reports of shots fired and found Rivas and a 16-year-old male, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
