The incident occurred in the Valley Oak District of Stockton, specifically near the intersection of Dovewood Street and Lost Meadow Lane, around 1:45 a.m. Officers responding to reports of gunfire discovered Calbert inside a garage, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the torso.
He was immediately transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Calbert’s grandmother, Nora Roots, expressed her grief, describing him as a typical teenager who enjoyed life and had not been involved in trouble.
