Upon arrival, they discovered 52-year-old Tyree Jones III, an Oakland resident, suffering from a gunshot wound. Jones was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Stockton Police Department's homicide detectives have since taken over the investigation into Jones's death.
