On July 7, 2024, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Stockton police responded to a shooting near North Commerce and West Vine streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Stockton resident Alverse Taylor suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
