She reportedly left her home with the intention of visiting a friend, but she never arrived and has not returned home since. All subsequent attempts to locate her have been unsuccessful, leading to significant concern for her safety and well-being.
The Wilmington Police Department is handling the investigation into her disappearance and has issued a Gold Alert in connection with her case. The Gold Alert Program is a state initiative in Delaware designed to help locate missing senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, or those who are suicidal.
Carmella is described as a Black female with a light brown complexion, black hair, and brown eyes. Sources provide a height range between 5'9" and 6'1" and a weight of approximately 170 to 180 pounds. At the time she went missing, she was wearing a distinctive long white coat or a long black and white checkered coat, along with a black knit hat. It is known that Ms. Potts often frequents the Lancaster Avenue corridor within the city of Wilmington. Her loved ones are deeply distressed by her sudden and unexplained absence.
Authorities are urging anyone with information, regardless of how minor it may seem, to come forward to assist in the investigation.
