In the summer of 2023, the life of Phil Pittman Jr., a 39-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence in Memphis, Tennessee. On the evening of Thursday, July 27th, Pittman had gone to a Kroger grocery store on East Shelby Drive. Having just purchased snacks for his children, he was in the parking lot when he was gunned down.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and Pittman was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. ...
