In the quiet neighborhood of Kingsbury in Memphis, Tennessee, a burst of violence shattered the evening calm on May 20, 2018. Ricardo Mendieta, a 48-year-old Hispanic male, was in the front yard of a residence in the 3600 block of South Lloyd Circle when gunfire erupted around 5:30 p.m. The sudden and brutal attack left both Mendieta and another man, 57-year-old Antonio Villarreal, with fatal injuries.
