In September 2023, the life of 22-year-old Kyle Martin Jr., a male, was tragically cut short on Moonlight Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. He was discovered in his vehicle, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Following the shooting, his vehicle crashed into parked cars nearby. Emergency services transported him to Skyline Medical Center, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators began to explore a potential drug-related motive for the fatal shooting.
The investigation into Kyle Martin Jr.'s death led to the identification of multiple suspects. In March 2024, a grand jury returned indictments for first-degree murder against two individuals: Nathaniel Harris, who was 19 at the time, and Thomas Wade, then 21. Harris was apprehended at the Birch Building during a court appearance for a separate, unrelated attempted homicide case for which he had been out on bond. Wade was taken into custody at his residence in Rutherford County through a coordinated effort with the LaVergne Police Department. Both men were ordered to be held without bond.
As the investigation continued, a third suspect was identified. In June 2025, Jaymes Greer, 25, was also indicted on charges of first-degree murder. The indictment also included charges for being a felon in possession of a weapon and the use of a weapon during a dangerous felony. Greer was already in custody on an unrelated case when he was served with the indictment. The continued efforts of the Homicide Unit determined that all three men were involved in the fatal shooting. Like the other two suspects, Greer is being held without bond.
