In the early morning hours of June 14, 2020, a violent shootout erupted in a second-story room of the Fiddler's Inn on Music Valley Drive in Nashville, Tennessee, claiming the life of 38-year-old Donald Lamont White, a Black male from the area. The incident, which police believe was drug-related, also left three other men wounded. Responding to the scene at approximately 4 a.m., officers discovered White on the sidewalk outside the motel with a pistol found underneath his body.
Forensic evidence at the scene, including a trail of blood, suggested that White had been shot in the upstairs room before he fled downstairs, where he ultimately collapsed and died from his injuries.

The investigation also revealed that one of the injured brothers, identified as Lee Wilkerson, was wanted on an outstanding warrant for an especially aggravated robbery that had occurred the previous October. Authorities stated that he would be taken into custody on that charge upon his release from the hospital.
