On November 25, 2023, 26-year-old Stephen Rouse III of Nashville, Tennessee, was fatally shot while riding in the backseat of an Uber vehicle. The incident occurred as the Uber traveled northbound on Interstate 65 near the I-24 split. Prior to the shooting, the Uber driver had picked up Rouse from Citi Trends on Clarksville Pike for a trip to Madison.
