Steven James Godwin, a 35-year-old man from Nashville, Tennessee, was tragically killed on March 9, 2022. According to surveillance footage, Godwin left the WeGo bus station around 6 p.m. on March 8 and walked to the courtyard outside the Citizen Plaza State Office Building on Deaderick Street. There, he encountered another individual, and an altercation ensued, during which Godwin was shot.
