Steven James Godwin, a 35-year-old man from Nashville, Tennessee, was tragically killed on March 9, 2022. According to surveillance footage, Godwin left the WeGo bus station around 6 p.m. on March 8 and walked to the courtyard outside the Citizen Plaza State Office Building on Deaderick Street. There, he encountered another individual, and an altercation ensued, during which Godwin was shot. He was found dead the next morning by a person in a nearby high-rise building who notified the police.
