In December of 2014, the life of 37-year-old Dana Rodriegus Mayo, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Nashville, Tennessee. His mother reported him missing on December 16, 2014, after he failed to return home the previous day as promised. He had left his house at approximately 4:00 p.m. on December 15th, telling his mother he would be right back.
When he did not return and was not answering his phone, concern grew for his welfare.
The search for Dana Mayo came to a heartbreaking end on the morning of Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Officers were dispatched to a vacant house located at 3914 Flicker Drive after receiving a report about a vehicle that had been parked in the driveway since Monday evening. Inside the vehicle, a white Mercury Grand Marquis, authorities discovered Dana Mayo in the driver's seat. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the shooting occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15th, as there were reports of gunshots in that area at that time.
Despite the passage of time, the murder of Dana Mayo remains unsolved. No arrests have been made in connection with his death, and the case is now considered a cold case. The Nashville Police Department's Cold Case Homicide Unit continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation.
