On a Saturday evening, January 12, 2019, Broderick Porter-Baugh, a 32-year-old male, returned to his Nashville home at 1307 Pennock Avenue with his family after an outing to Opry Mills. As they were getting out of their vehicle around 5:00 p.m., two men dressed in all black approached them, brandishing a gun and demanding money. The assailants forced Porter-Baugh's girlfriend and their four children inside the house.
One of the men then came back outside where Porter-Baugh was and shot
him. Following the shooting, the two suspects fled the scene in a white 2012 GMC Terrain. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned with the engine still running at the intersection of Adali Street and Frances Street. Tragically, Broderick Porter-Baugh died from his injuries.
The suspects were described as two Black males in their early 20s. Both were wearing black hoodies, black pants, and face coverings. One of the men was estimated to be between 5'3' and 5'8' tall with shoulder-length dreadlocks, while the other was described as being approximately 6' tall with short hair.
As of now, the case of Broderick Porter-Baugh's murder remains unsolved and is considered a cold case by the Nashville Police Department. No arrests have been made, and authorities continue to seek information from the public regarding the two unidentified suspects.
