Keon Hawkins, a 32-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on June 7, 2016, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was fatally shot outside his home on Bessie Avenue in North Nashville. The incident also claimed the life of his 22-year-old son, Kemontanez Armstrong. The double murder sent shockwaves through the community and highlighted the ongoing issue of gun violence in the area.
