In the summer of 2022, the life of 17-year-old Antwon Mario Suggs was tragically cut short in Greenville, South Carolina. On the evening of August 2nd, the young man found himself in a perilous situation that would ultimately lead to his untimely death. The male teenager, who was born in Greensboro, North Carolina but resided in Greer, South Carolina, was the victim of a fatal shooting.
The incident unfolded at an apartment complex where Antwon was seated in a car.
He was suddenly approached by three other teenagers who had the intention of robbing him. During this brazen act, a firearm was discharged, and Antwon was struck by the gunfire. In the immediate aftermath, a courageous effort was made to save his life. He was quickly transported to a nearby emergency medical facility.
Despite the swift medical attention, the severity of Antwon's injuries proved to be too great. Having lost a significant amount of blood, he succumbed to his wounds at the clinic. The promising life of the seventeen-year-old was over, leaving a void in the lives of his family and friends.
The Greenville Police Department launched an immediate and intensive investigation into the homicide. Their efforts quickly bore fruit, leading to the apprehension of three teenage suspects. One of the alleged assailants was identified as 17-year-old Nigel McIltire-Edmonds. The other two suspects taken into custody were 15 and 16 years old. All three were subsequently charged with the murder of Antwon Mario Suggs, facing the grave consequences of their alleged actions on that fateful August evening.
