On March 27, 2024, 21-year-old Azaveon Ymez Natour Wakefield was fatally shot in Greenville County, South Carolina. Deputies responded to a call at approximately 3:59 a.m. on Pine Creek Court Extension, where they found Wakefield suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
