In the late afternoon hours of November 29, 2023, the life of 25-year-old Demetrius Lamont Johnson, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in a shooting that unfolded in the south Halls Crossroads area of Knoxville, Tennessee. The Knox County Sheriff's Office received reports of the shooting at approximately 3:48 p.m. and dispatched deputies to the scene at 6408 Maynardville Pike, near the intersection with Rifle Range Road and Brown Gap Road.
