On November 29, 2023, at approximately 3:48 p.m., the Knox County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) responded to reports of a shooting at 6408 Maynardville Pike, near the intersection with Rifle Range Road and Brown Gap Road in the south Halls Crossroads area of Knoxville, Tennessee. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 25-year-old Demetrius Lamont Johnson suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
