In the summer of 2013, the life of 57-year-old Conrad Wise, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Knoxville, Tennessee. On the evening of July 17th, Wise was walking home after a trip to the Food City grocery store. His journey took him through Malcolm Martin Park on Western Avenue, a familiar path that on this night would be his last. It was in this park that he was discovered, having been shot multiple times.
