In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Clarksville, Tennessee, tragedy struck, forever altering the lives of a local family. On July 28, 2024, 27-year-old Tikoreus Gold, a man known affectionately as 'Ty' to his friends and family, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Lyrics Lounge on Fort Campbell Boulevard. The incident, which unfolded at approximately 11:18 p.m., also left another man wounded.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and Gold was rushed to Tennova
Healthcare before being life-flighted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The second victim was reported to be in stable condition. At the time of the shooting, witnesses reported that the individuals involved fled the scene, heading northbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
Tikoreus Gold was a 2015 graduate of Kenwood High School and had gone on to earn a degree in Automotive Service Technology from Lincoln College of Technology in 2017. He was putting his skills to use as an automotive mechanic at Wildcat Chevrolet. Remembered for his infectious laugh and his love for country music and working on cars, Gold was a father to two daughters, Imani and Kourtney.
The Clarksville Police Department's investigation into the homicide is ongoing. To date, no arrests have been made directly in connection with the murder of Tikoreus Gold, and law enforcement has not publicly identified any suspects. In a tragic coincidence, another incident on the same day involved a man named Eric McCoin who was jailed for hiding a gun used in a shooting that resulted in the death of his son, also named Tikoreus Gold; however, this has been reported as a separate and distinct case from the nightclub shooting.
