On a summer evening in Clarksville, Tennessee, a gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of Eric Scott Hardy. A 26-year-old white male, Hardy was a carpenter and a member of the United Heathens Motorcycle Club. On July 24, 2019, he was attending a bike night celebration at the Dragons Motorcycle Club clubhouse located on College Street. An argument erupted in the parking lot around 9:30 p.m., escalating into a gunfight.
In the ensuing chaos, Hardy was fatally shot. He was rushed to Tennova Healthcare, but tragically succumbed to his injuries. Another man, who was 44 years old at the time, was also shot and critically injured during the incident; he was flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment and was eventually released. Hardy, a father to two young daughters, was remembered by his mother as a great friend and a good dad.
In the days following the shooting, the investigation led to the arrests of two men on charges unrelated to the direct act of murder. Jackie Dewayne Davis, 29, and Brady Robert Goodwin were both charged with tampering with evidence. According to police, video surveillance showed the two men picking up shell casings from the ground at the scene of the crime before officers arrived.
Despite these arrests, no individual has been charged with the murder of Eric Hardy. The investigation into his death remains ongoing, leaving his family and the community awaiting answers and justice. Authorities have continued to appeal to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the shooting.
