On the evening of October 14, 2024, Alyssa Lokits, a 34-year-old woman, went for a run along the Mill Creek Greenway in Antioch, Tennessee, a familiar path near her home. A brilliant neuroscientist with a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, she worked in the cybersecurity field and was known for her kindness and advocacy for women.
